About the Poet

Lori DeSanti was born and raised in Connecticut.  She graduated with her MFA Degree from Southern Connecticut State University in 2014.

Her debut chapbook-length poetry collection, Saltwater Under Brittle Sky (2015), is published through Swimming with Elephants Publications.

In 2015, she placed as a Top 4 Finalist in the erbacce-press full-length book manuscript contest.  She is the October 2015 Feature Poet for erbacce-press.  She has also been a finalist in the 2014 Eastern Point Press Chapbook Contest, and a Quarter Finalist in the 2014 Mary Ballard Chapbook Contest run by Casey Shay Press.

Her work is the recipient of the 2014 William Kloefkorn Award in Paddlefish, the literary journal run by Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota.  She has also received two Pushcart Nominations, a Best of the Net Nomination & a Best Indie Lit in New England (BiLine)Nomination.

Lori edited poetry for Noctua Review, the nationally run graduate literary journal affiliated with Southern Connecticut State University’s MFA Program from 2013-2014 and served as their Editor-in-Chief from 2014-2015.
